The future is collaborative! Next week, Guarulhos International Airport, Sao Paulo, will host the first international A-CDM seminar, an event that will take place between September 9 and 10, organized in partnership by the Brazilian Air Force, GRU Airport and Action Editora. The event aims to disseminate the A-CDM process, bringing more efficiency to the aeronautical community of the South American continent. The event will bring together representatives and authorities from various aviation sectors, providing a great opportunity to share information and insights on this new aviation operational concept..
Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) is a concept that encompasses multiple operating procedures and process automation, whose information is gathered and shared among all operators in real-time, providing post-operational analysis and recording of typical and unusual operating trends, bringing better predictability and planning in operations. In short, this concept involves an environment where everyone collaborates, shares information, and seeks efficient and fast integrated solutions.
This concept is already a reality in Europe, where 28 of its major airports already have the A-CDM system, i.e., 1/3 of Eurocontrol's recorded air movements. In addition to Europe, Dubai (UAE), Auckland (New Zealand) and Singapore airports are also implementing the A-CDM concept. In Latin America, which has projected high growth in air traffic over the next two decades, the implementation of the A-CDM system will be able to effectively manage this flow, while also improving the cost-effectiveness of operations.
In Brazil, the implementation of the A-CDM was made possible through an agreement established in October 2015 between the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA) and Eurocontrol. This agreement represents cooperation between both organizations aiming at optimizing the exchange of information and operational data on flights between South America and Europe, more precisely as regards Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM). “A-CDM is a new philosophy that involves everyone operating at the airport, and we want to improve efficiency, safety, reducing the environmental impact and improving the quality of customer service. Together with Eurocontrol, DECEA has partnered and selected Guarulhos (GRU Airport) to implement the concept and spread it across the country and the continent, ”said Lieutenant Air Brigadier Jeferson Domingues de Freitas, DECEA Director-General.
Attending key industry events, Saipher is pleased to sponsor this important seminar and will once again be present to share information, broaden contacts, and follow-up on the A-CDM concept deployment plans through its nearly 25 years of experience in the airline industry.
