Brazil-Saudi Arabia Cooperation: a new horizon in civil aviation

At the beginning of October, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) promoted the Brazilian-Saudi Aviation Conference in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The main objective of this event was to stimulate technical cooperation and reinforce air connectivity between the two countries, focusing on investments, infrastructure and sustainability in the civil aviation sector. The conference brought together representatives from the Saudi Arabian Civil Aviation Authority (GACA), the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (CLAC), aviation industry leaders, CEOs of air transport companies, businesspeople in the sector and representatives of the federal government.

Several topics were discussed during the event, including new technologies for a more sustainable future, passenger experiences and public-private partnerships. Saipher's Director of Innovation and New Business, Brigadier José Vagner Vital, also Coordinator of the Aerospace Committee of the National Union of Defense Materials Industries (SIMDE), participated in the event as Leader of the Aerospace Committee Marechal Casemiro Montenegro Filho of SIMDE. "It was a privilege to be at the conference strengthening ties between Brazil and Saudi Arabia in civil aviation. Saipher is committed to contributing technology and innovation to promote a safer and more efficient airline industry. We believe this cooperation will benefit both nations significantly," he said.


The Conference


On the first day of the event, the program was marked by the Opening Ceremony, in which authorities from Brazil and Saudi Arabia spoke. The Secretary of Civil Aviation, Juliano Noman, the President of ANAC, Tiago Pereira and the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia (GACA), Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, together with the Minister of Ports and Airports of Brazil, Silvio Costa, and the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Brazil, Faisal Ibrahim Ghulam started the event.

The speakers could also hear a speech by the Minister of Regional Development of Brazil, Waldez Góes, followed by the Minister of Ports and Airports, and the Minister of the Presidency's Civil House, Rui Costa.

The program also included a panel of presidents who addressed the strategic vision for the development of air connectivity in Latin America and Saudi Arabia. The President of ANAC, Tiago Pereira, the President of GACA, Mr. Abdulaziz A. Al-Duailej, and the President of LACAC, Mr. Leonardo Blengini, participated in this panel. The event continued with discussions and presentations that strengthened ties between the two countries in civil aviation.
