ICEA and initiatives in favor of SISCEAB

The Airspace Control Institute (ICEA) promoted, at the Aerospace Science and Technology Department (DCTA), the Seminar "Academic and industry initiatives in favor of the Brazilian Airspace Control System – SISCEAB.” The activity is dedicated to scientific works with the presentation of completed master's and doctoral dissertations, publication of scientific articles in international journals, and other academic works.

During the event, held at the Institute's facilities, there was a time for companies to present products and innovations already implemented within the scope of SISCEAB. Among the subjects explored were ATFM (Air Traffic Flow Management), air navigation, UAS (Unmanned Aircraft), AAM (Advanced Air Mobility) operational performance, meteorology, A-CDM (Collaborative Airport Decision Making), Industry 4.0, and eVTOL, among others.

Saipher ATC was represented by Elias Fernandes, the company's IP&D Manager. He spoke about the A-CDM (Airport Collaborative Decision Making) Concept and its implementation at the first Brazilian airport, Guarulhos International Airport (SP), in November 2020. “The A-CDM is a collaborative concept with a clear objective to improve three important pillars in operations: punctuality, predictability, and operational efficiency. In this concept, both collaboration and information sharing among A-CDM partners are fundamental for the success of its implementation within the airport ecosystem,” says Elias.

The Seminar, which was organized by the ICEA Research Division, aims to promote and disseminate research initiatives at the Institute and was open to both in-person and online participation. Representatives of the ICEA itself, the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA), the Southeast Regional Airspace Control Center (CRCEA-SE), the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) also took part in the activity), Boeing, IACIT, XMobot, Speedbird, Atech, Embraer, and Institute of Industrial Promotion and Coordination (IFI).
