Saipher ATC at the presentation of the Economic Subsidy for Innovation

The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovations (MCTI), the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), and the Financier of Studies and Projects (FINEP) presented the Public Selection for Economic Subsidy for Innovation - small launch vehicle and launch of nano and /or microsatellites.

This initiative had the participation of the Minister of the MCTI, Paulo Alvim, the President of AEB, Carlos Moura, the President of FINEP, Waldemar Barroso, in addition to the Director General of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA), Air Brigadier Lieutenant Maurício Augusto Silveira de Medeiros and other authorities from this sector.

The event was held at the Brazilian Aerospace Memorial (MAB), located in São José dos Campos, in the countryside of São Paulo State. The Director of Innovation and New Business, R1 Air Brigadier José Vagner Vital, was present, representing the company Saipher ATC and the National Union of Defense Material Industries (SIMDE). According to him, Saipher is getting closer and closer to providing services to the space segment. "I consider the increase in MCTI/AEB/FINEP/FNDCT grants an important mechanism to accelerate Brazil's entry into the global space market," said the Director.

During the ceremony, Lieutenant Brigadier Medeiros emphasized that he chose the MAB Museum as a historical reference and a tribute to the 21 scientists who gave their lives for the Brazilian Space Program (PEB) when they perished in the accident that occurred in Alcântara, in Maranhão, in the year of 2003.

Minister Paulo Alvim declared that the sustainable recovery of the PEB, from now on, is a path with no return. There is a commitment from the MCTI for this new moment. "There is no country that wants to be seen as a well developed that does not have a developed aerospace industry as well," said the Minister.
